Today is inauguration day, and Donald Trump is officially our president. But that doesn’t mean that everyone is on board--Trump remains divisive on many issues, including climate change. Now that it’s official that 2016 was the warmest year on record, hopefully Trump and company will start listening to the scientists on this one. Read on for the last rants of the week!

Ellen’s Beautiful Tribute to the Obamas

On her show yesterday, Ellen DeGeneres paid tribute to the presidential couple with a special video montage of some of the times that POTUS and FLOTUS have appeared as guests. It contains some of Barack’s dance moves, the push-up competition between Ellen and Michelle, and a visit they all once made to the drug store. “This is the last day that Barack Obama will be our president. I want to thank him for changing my life,” Ellen said. “I am a legally married woman because of him and so is my wife [actress Portia de Rossi].”

On Wednesday night Ellen won three People’s Choice Awards, making her total number of wins a record-breaking 20. Recognition of Ellen–a gay woman who essentially had her sitcom canceled because of the backlash after she came out–is all the more important during these trying times.
