Celebrities Running for Office: Familiar Faces in the 2016 Races

Kathleen Matthews gained fame as a Maryland news anchor, and is one half of a primetime power couple, given that she’s married to MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews. But now she’s adding another bullet point to her impressive resume–politician. Matthews is running to represent Maryland’s 8th Congressional District, as a Democrat. Her campaign so far has promised to focus on hot issues like equal pay for women and an increased minimum wage.
