Celebrities Running for Office: Familiar Faces in the 2016 Races

Melissa Gilbert, who played everyone’s favorite 1800s farm girl Laura Ingalls Wilder on “Little House on the Prairie,” announced this week that she’s going to run for Michigan’s 8th Congressional seat. She’ll be running as a Democrat for a seat that includes the capitol of Michigan–Lansing. Her rhetoric so far indicates that the economy will be a big issue in her campaign.
