During last night’s Presidential debate, Governor Gary Johnson made his voice heard via Twitter, rattling off a tweet almost every two minutes. While not allowed to join the two major party candidates on stage he was determined to make his voice heard. Johnson, a libertarian, was astoundingly evenhanded, taking questions from both candidates and not holding back any punches.
Like or hate the idea of a third party, Johnson makes a strong case that the overwhelming influence of special interest groups on the Democratic and Republican Party organizations hamper their ability to take “honest” positions. In any case, Johnson doesn’t want to give up:
If you believe the third parties should have a voice on stage, let your support be known, as the Commission on Presidential Debates requires at least 15 percent of the national electorate support a candidate (based upon the results of five different polling organizations) in order to qualify them for a seat on the main stage of the debate.
