Arab Americans No Longer Have To Pick Black or White

The White House has suggested some changes to government records for individuals who do not identify as black, white, Asian, or Hispanic–a new racial category from the Census Bureau would include Arab American people or anyone with roots in the Middle East or North Africa. This is a huge victory and recognition for Arab Americans. According to advocates for the proposal, this would help enforce voter rights, prevent discrimination, and help identify specific medical issues that affect Arab Americans.
