Go Purple Today
Today is Purple Thursday, a part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Today, people are encouraged to wear purple to show solidarity with victims of domestic violence. This issue affects more Americans than a lot of people realize–according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence: “On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.”
