Yesterday a federal judge ruled that Amazon is to pay back consumers for in-app purchases their kids made without permission. The Federal Trade Commission accused the online retailer of making it too easy for kids to “accidentally” run up the bills while playing games. Purchases like those caused around $86 million in charges that parents didn’t know about or didn’t authorize. Now the company has to issue gift cards to affected families.
