This morning, Iraqi forces were right on the doorstep of the city of Mosul, the organization’s last remaining stronghold in Iraq. The road to Mosul is filled with landmines, snipers, and road-blocking boulders, but the forces are now closer than they have been since starting the operation two weeks ago.
