Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is reportedly refusing to cooperate with the Senate inquiry into his Russia ties. The Senate Intelligence Committee issued a subpoena for documents detailing his communications with Russian officials, but sources close to him have said that he is planning on pleading the Fifth Amendment and will refuse to release any documents. It would be “highly imprudent for him to comply with the subpoena,” one of the sources told Buzzfeed News.
Yesterday, Representative Elijah Cummings (D-MD) wrote a letter to the House Oversight Committee suggesting that Flynn had lied about his foreign income sources during his background check interview last year. If that is true, Flynn could be charged with a felony. Either way, the Flynn drama is not over yet.
