Democratic Congressman Makes Sexist Joke About Kellyanne Conway

That photo of Kellyanne Conway kneeling on the Oval Office couch is still stirring up trouble. Representative Cedric Richmond from Louisiana made a pretty inappropriate comment, seemingly meant as a cruel joke, on Wednesday night at the Washington Press Club’s annual congressional dinner. He brought up the photo in question, and said, “she really looked kind of familiar there in that position there.” He then said that he didn’t want to hear any comments referring “back to the 90s,” hinting at Republican Senator Tim Scott’s joke moments before. “Come on people. You remember the ‘90s. That couch has had a whole lot of worse things,” Scott said, alluding to President Bill Clinton’s affair. Richmond later issued a statement saying that his comment was misinterpreted and that he simply meant that Conway behaved too comfortably. But, many thought that Richmond should have never made the comment in the first place.
