UPS Shooter Allegedly Filed Workplace Complaint Three Months Before Shooting

In addition to the shooting in Alexandria, VA, another shooting took place at a UPS facility in San Francisco yesterday. A UPS driver shot and killed three other employees before taking his own life. Another two people were injured. The shooting happened during the daily morning meeting before the drivers were set to start their day. The gunman was later identified as 38-year-old Jimmy Lam. Although the motive remains unclear, it was revealed that Lam filed a workplace complaint three months ago, complaining that he was working excessive overtime.

This shooting came only nine days after another workplace shooting that killed nine people at a factory in Orlando, and the same day as the shooting at a GOP baseball practice. Later in the day, there was a shooting in Brooklyn, but no one died in that attack. Many are hopeful that a new conversation about gun control will come out of these horrific incidents.
