Tucker Carlson and Jose Vargas Clash on Fox News

Journalist Jose Antonio Vargas recently appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show to debate immigration policy. Vargas revealed in 2011 that he is an undocumented immigrant from the Philippines. He then explained to Carlson that he was a child when he was taken to the United States.

Vargas agreed with Carlson that the U.S. has every right to guard its borders and properly vet everyone who comes in, but pointed out that we also need to ask ourselves harder questions, because immigration is not a simple concept. Vargas said, “Why am I here? What are the root causes of migration? What do U.S. foreign policy and trade agreements have to do with migration patterns? How did NAFTA impact not only the United States, but Mexico? Right? These are the harder questions.” But Carlson seemed to just not understand his argument and kept saying, “What’s your point?” until he cut Vargas off. Check out the clip below.
