Happy Friday everyone! Hope you have a great weekend and see you on Monday! Welcome to RantCrush Top 5, where we take you through today’s top five controversial stories in the world of law and policy. Every Single Police Officer in this Town Quit

The town of Bunker Hill, Indiana only has about 860 residents, and now they don’t even have a police force. The town’s marshal and four other officers all resigned at once this week. According to Marshal Michael Thomison, they were not being treated fairly by the town council and had had enough. He said that some council members asked them to do “illegal, unethical, and immoral things,” such as running background checks on other council members or gaining access to confidential information. When they didn’t comply, they were threatened.

But it wasn’t only a moral issue, there were practical problems too. Thomison said that all of them had to share one set of body armor. And the icing on the cake: when he came back to work after defeating cancer, he was downgraded to a part-time position because it would be too expensive to keep him working full-time. Well there you have it, Bunker Hill Town Council, it pays off to treat town employees well.
