Melania Trump has started to take legal action against media outlets, including Daily Mail, “for making false and defamatory statements about her supposedly having been an “escort” in the 1990s.” With the counsel of Charles Harder, the lawyer who defended Hulk Hogan in his case against Gawker, Melania Trump wants to get the facts straight about her past. Harder claimed in a public statement: “…Outright lying about her in this way exceeds all bounds of appropriate news reporting and human decency.”
Word of the legal action has quickly spread through the British media world and has certainly sent a chilling message. A British newspaper sent a memo to its employees warning them about publishing articles with such allegations. In America, Inquistr and Bipartisan Report recently publicly apologized for publishing articles that repeated the claims. The media is shaking in their boots.
