RantCrush Top 5: August 18, 2016

“Inside Amy Schumer writer,” Kurt Metzger, has his own opinion on “how rape should be handled.” Metzger went on a Facebook rant this past Saturday mocking several posts that spoke out against rapists like Brock Turner and  Austin Wilkerson and “offered solidarity with rape victims”.

Metzger wrote a post scolding and making fun of victims who did not immediately ask the police for help. Metzger’s messages were extremely sexist and failed to acknowledge that men are often victims of rape, too.

Amy Schumer responded with this tweet: 

I am so saddened and disappointed in Kurt Metzger. He is my friend and a great writer and I couldn’t be more against his recent actions.
