Unrest in Milwaukee After Police Gun Down 23-year-old Man

A young man was killed Saturday after he tried fleeing a traffic stop. He was fatally shot by police and was said to have been armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Violent protests sparked up soon afterwards when a large crowd began setting fires to local businesses, damaging police cars, and attacking police officers at the scene. According to reports, firefighters were unable to put out fires because of continuing gunfire. Reporters from the Journal Sentinel were chased and beaten. It was pure chaos. According to Buzzfeed, the National Guard was activated early Sunday morning.

Seventeen people were arrested, but an estimated 200 to 800 people were involved in the riots.
