Air France Expands North Korea No-Fly Zone

Air France-KLM expanded its no-fly zone over North Korea yesterday after one of the airline’s planes avoided an intercontinental ballistic missile by just 60 miles. The plane, carrying 323 passengers going from Tokyo to Paris, reportedly flew over the site where a missile fell only 10 minutes later. The incident took place on July 28. North Korea said the missile test proved its capability of hitting the continental United States.

A U.S. expert said the missile could potentially reach New York City. The act provoked condemnation from Japan and the United Nations, and South Korea said it will take independent action to curb the nuclear threat from its neighbor.
