According to the proposal, Islam will be removed entirely, while other religions like Christianity, Judaism, and Buddhism will remain in the draft. The new curriculum is set to go into effect in the 2019-20 year.

While the State Board of Education Director claims the new setup to be more manageable and more “age appropriate,” that argument seems far-fetched given the current political climate.
