R.I.P New York Airbnb

Airbnb filed a federal lawsuit hours after New York Governor Cuomo signed into law a restriction that makes it illegal for anyone living in buildings with three or more units to advertise their homes on Airbnb for less than 30 days. Violators can be fined up to $7,500. The law does not apply to hosts who rent out his or her place while still present.

The lawsuit points to a regulatory war that Airbnb has been fighting with cities since its inception.
