Do you no longer feel safe in your own home? Are you worried murderous clowns, or worse, screwworms, are going to attack you? Fear not, Obama has committed to send humans to Mars by the 2030s. The ambitious plan is being made possible by a collaboration of the U.S. government and private companies. Seven companies have already been awarded funds to start developing habitats for Mars living.

The idea is to send humans to Mars and bring them back safely, then hopefully have people live on Mars full-time. It sounds thrilling but be prepared to wait about 20 years and have a chunk of dough in your pocket. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio expressed a desire to go to outer space and innovator Elon Musk is looking for wannabe Red Planet explorers with a baseline of $200,000.

But after a very arduous eight years, we can imagine why Obama is so excited to get as far away from the White House as possible.
