Yesterday the investigation of a mass grave south of Mosul began. Investigators believe that around 100 bodies, many of them decapitated, were killed by jihadis and buried there. It is unclear who the victims are, but the discovery of a stuffed animal made it seem possible that children are among the murdered.

The grave was discovered by Iraqi troops advancing toward Mosul. ISIS is believed to have cracked down brutally since the Iraqi forces’ advance toward Mosul started. The troops have some intense fighting ahead of them, but hopefully they will defeat the terrorist group.
