Last week, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was in the news again because two of his top aides were found guilty in connection with the so-called Bridgegate case. In his first public comment since the trial, Christie called the plot to punish a mayor for not endorsing him “one of the most abjectly stupid things I’ve ever seen.” And he indicated that he had nothing to do with it.
But it’s very questionable how some of his closest aides could come up with the idea and implement it without his knowledge. He is now acting as the chief of Trump’s White House Transition team, but it seems likely that his political career is over.
