On Monday it was discovered that Denver’s Sheriff’s Department actively skipped non-citizens while looking for new people to hire. This is illegal and the Justice Department ordered Denver to pay a $10,000 fine and change its policies. This of course had a lot of people enraged over the fact that non-citizens can even work in the U.S., let alone be considered for law enforcement.
But, hey, it is very possible to be an immigrant and also be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Something we all should remember, since it’s Thanksgiving week.
