President-Elect Donald Trump just appointed South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley the U.S. ambassador to the UN–pending her Senate confirmation, of course. Haley is the daughter of Indian immigrants, and some say she is a great choice to try to attract more women and minorities, and to make the White House team more diverse. But on the other hand, she endorsed both Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz before they dropped out of the primary race and was a firm critic of Trump on the campaign trail, which made some Trump fans unhappy with the pick.
She also has no real experience in foreign policy, but is still more qualified than some.
