Famous TV host Dr. Phil is being slammed for exploiting actress Shelley Duvall and her struggle with mental illness in a coming episode. She is best known for her role as the mom in “The Shining” in 1980, which was directed by Stanley Kubrick. Now Kubrick’s daughter Vivian has posted an open letter shaming Dr. Phil for making entertainment out of Duvall’s mental state, and has asked people to not watch the episode.

The previews show the formerly young and beautiful Duvall in a worn out, declining state, discussing her belief that Robin Williams is still alive and shape shifting, her suspicions that she is being followed by the Sheriff of Nottingham (the bad guy from Robin Hood), and saying “I’m very sick, I need help.” Mia Farrow joined the critics:
