During the president’s meeting with Pope Francis yesterday, one person was noticeably absent. Press Secretary Sean Spicer was left out, despite media reports that he was very excited to meet the Pope. Spicer is a devout Catholic.

Trump’s exclusion of Spicer garnered the controversial press secretary some sympathy. “Wow. That’s all he wanted,” said a White House source to CNN, adding that it was definitely a slight from the president.

Trump has done something I thought was impossible: By excluding Spicer from Pope meeting, he has made everyone empathize with/defend Spicer.
