The Trump Administration has asked Congress for permission to track and destroy any kind of drone that is discovered on domestic soil, complicating plans for farmers, online retailers, movie makers, and hobby photographers. Companies like Amazon are working on using drones for shipping products, and they are already widely used in farming. But now the government wants to limit drone use to surveillance, computer privacy, and aircraft protection.
The draft legislation suggests the White House is worried about the potential that terrorists could use drones for attacks. The bill would give the government authority to seize and destroy any drones.
