After President Donald Trump unexpectedly fired James Comey, the White House struggled to explain what had happened to reporters. Press Secretary Sean Spicer tried to avoid talking to the media for as long as possible, huddling with his staff near some bushes outside the White House. But as criticism of the firing increased, he decided to talk to them as long as he wasn’t filmed. “Just turn the lights off. Turn the lights off,” he ordered. The makeshift press conference was held in almost complete darkness, outside, for about 10 minutes. The Washington Post initially reported that he was hiding in the bushes, leading to a lot of fun reactions from social media users.
