Today is the last day of Women’s History Month, and after a month of celebrating women’s accomplishments and contributions to the world, author and English professor Bruce Holsinger decided to bring attention to just how many authors owe their wives a big “thank you.” He knew that historically, many writers used their wives to type up their whole books. He started the hashtag #ThanksForTyping and shared what he found on Google. It turned out to be a very long list! One wife wasn’t even mentioned by name.
There were examples of men unable to type their own books well into the 2000s, according to Holsinger. It’s high time to give these women the proper credit.
