Lawyers Spoof Buzzfeed With Actual Kitten Picture

Earlier this year, Russian tech executive Aleksej Gubarev sued Buzzfeed for libel and his lawyers seem to have a sense of humor. Gubarev filed the suit after his companies were mentioned in that unverified dossier a few months back, the one that alleged that Russia had some sensitive information on President Trump. However, Buzzfeed has since apologized to Gubarev, removed his name from the reports, and tried to get the case dismissed.

But then on Monday, Gubarev’s lawyers filed a pleading arguing why the case shouldn’t be dismissed, with a familiar sounding title: “Six Ways Buzzfeed has Misled the Court (Number Two Will Amaze You)…And a Picture of a Kitten. This is obviously a spoof of Buzzfeed’s clickbait, but it remains to be seen whether the judge will find it funny. Oh, and don’t worry, there is an actual picture of a kitten in there.
