Imagine that you’re cruising around, looking for a parking spot, when you see it: a cop car parked illegally. Does that make you mad? For at least one Florida man, the answer is yes. Glen Carr, a Miami-Dade area Army major, has been documenting all the instances of illegal cop parking he sees. After he takes the pictures, he files complaints with the local departments.

He said that he’s filed at least 125 complaints to date, and while many have been flat-out ignored, the independent Civilian Investigative Panel (CIP) recently “ruled that 15 Miami Police Department cops had broken regulations.” While that group can only issue recommendations, it was validation for Carr’s crusade. So, if you’re frustrated with illegal police parkers in your city, maybe it’s time to take a page out of Carr’s book and become a parking spot vigilante too.
