A municipal office in Maine had to close for the weekend after an angry man entered and slammed a jar full of bed bugs onto the counter. About 100 of the little pests scampered off and the whole office had to be closed and sprayed. The man was reportedly looking for help exterminating bedbugs in his apartment. But according to the city development director Matt Nazar, the man’s apartment was already being sprayed and he didn’t qualify for assistance finding somewhere else to live. He then yelled, “They’re your problem, now!”
Nazar called the act “an extraordinary bit of misdirected anger.” The angry man said he wanted the officials to experience a little bit of what he has to go through. It’s not clear whether the man will be charged with any sort of crime, but a lot of people on social media felt equally inspired and horrified.
