Austin Mayor Shuts Down Angry Man’s Sexist Letter

A movie theater in Austin, Texas, decided to host a women-only screening of “Wonder Woman.” For some reason, this decision by a private company, for one night only, upset some men tremendously. One man was so angry he wrote an extremely hate-filled letter to Austin Mayor Steve Adler, saying he hopes every man will boycott Austin and that he will do all he can to cause damage to the city’s image. He also claimed that women have never invented anything and that they can’t serve in the army.

Adler’s communications director, Jason Stanford, said the office rarely gets letters about “Wonder Woman,” as most people realize that the mayor can’t control what a private company does. But surprisingly, many men had questioned whether a women-only screening is even legal. “It’s a private business,” he said. “Furthermore, 99 percent of all the screenings in Austin are dude-friendly. It’s almost like the whole world is set up for us. I think the real shocking thing is it took this long to get a lady superhero movie.”

And the internet loved the mayor’s awesome reply to the angry letter:
