Many dog lovers are aware of the account “We Rate Dogs” or @dog_rates on Twitter. It does exactly what it says–rates dogs. (And it’s important to note that they’re good dogs, Brent). Here’s a sample of the account’s usual work:
The account, which has over two million followers, is run by Matt Nelson, a 20-year-old college student from California. But yesterday, Nelson found himself in a debate that doesn’t have much to do with dogs. After the “covfefe” nonsense yesterday, Nelson made hats that say “Covfefe AF” and started selling them through his account, and he quickly decided to donate any proceeds to Planned Parenthood. Many conservatives lashed out at Nelson, accusing him of a politicizing an account that is really just about good dogs. Nelson eventually decided to apologize and decided to match any donations to Planned Parenthood with a personal donation to dog shelters.
Now it seems like We Rate Dogs is back to rating dogs, like this gem:
