Passengers on a Delta flight heading from Seattle to Beijing had a scare last night when a man became violent and assaulted a flight attendant. Witnesses said that the man was pacing up and down the aisle in the first class section after takeoff and then tried to open the emergency exit, saying he needed air. When a flight attendant tried to stop him, he threw a punch. Other passengers tried to subdue the man but he was too strong. “They broke two bottles of wine on his head. I tried to choke him and he just threw me off like a rag doll,” one passenger, who wanted to remain anonymous, told reporters. Another man had to sit on top of the culprit to keep him down while the plane headed back to Seattle. A witness said a flight attendant was bloodied and three people were injured. Once back on the ground, the man was handcuffed and placed in a wheelchair, but started screaming for help and tipped the wheelchair over. The FBI took over but said there is no information indicating that the man is a threat to national security.
