Here in America, we take two things very seriously: dogs and flags, especially the American flag. That’s why people are wholly conflicted about this picture that actress Kaley Cuoco posted of her dogs sitting on an American flag for the Fourth of July. It’s cute but somehow it’s also blasphemous?? Seriously:

People got so pissed that Cuoco’s dogs were sitting on the flag that she wrote a lengthy apology letter on Instagram admitting that she had made a mistake and that she was sorry. The “Big Bang Theory” star closed by saying “Living in the public eye, can be extremely difficult at times. Every mistake and every imperfection is amplified. I am not perfect. I am a proud American, today, tomorrow, always.”
