RantCrush Top 5: July 5, 2017

Yesterday, NPR tweeted the Declaration of Independence, in a nod to a longstanding tradition of reading it on the air on July 4. But, amazingly, a bunch of people had no idea what was going on. Some users, who identified as Trump supporters, criticized the news organization for inciting violence and encouraging a revolution.

Seriously, this is the dumbest idea I have ever seen on twitter. Literally no one is going to read 5000 tweets about this trash.

Many on social media questioned how those users can call themselves patriots, but don’t recognize the Declaration of Independence. Some comments and even some accounts have since been deleted, but thanks to screenshots we can still enjoy them:
