It Was Only A Matter of Time…

Michelle Obama’s speech at the DNC on Monday was well-received by nearly everyone watching. And while many saw the speech as one of the best convention addresses in recent history, someone inevitably had to say something offensive about it. A memorable line from her speech came when Obama said, “I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves.” A bold statement of progress simply couldn’t be left unchecked–Bill O’Reilly naturally came in for some unneeded, and seemingly inaccurate, balance. On his show, O’Reilly noted that Obama was largely right, but went on to claim, “Slaves that worked [on the White House] were well-fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government.” Really Bill?
