Senator Bernie Sanders wanted to prove a point yesterday when he printed out a giant Donald Trump tweet, glued it to a board, and brought it to the Senate floor.
Sanders said he wanted to hold Trump responsible for what he promised during the campaign, namely to not cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid. “Millions of people voted for him on the belief that he would keep his word,” Sanders said.
Politics via social media really is a modern phenomenon. And Bernie got a taste of it too, when his board quickly turned into a meme as people inserted their own ideas into the picture.
