Last night, actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault after getting into a fight with an alleged neo-Nazi near his video project “He Will Not Divide Us” in New York. The project involves a 24-hour live stream that will go on until the end of President Trump’s term. In the video from last night, people are seen in front of the camera chanting, while counter-protesters are hanging out in the background. According to online observers, a man came up and said: “Hitler did nothing wrong.” The police say that LaBeouf reacted by pulled the man’s scarf and scratching his face.

It’s unclear exactly what happened and what was said. Many LaBeouf fans are pointing out that he is Jewish and claim that he was simply defending himself.
