But Madonna, Maybe Think Twice Before You “Express Yourself”

While the Women’s March saw a number of illustrious speakers, some speeches didn’t go as smoothly as others. Madonna’s speech was one of the more inflammatory ones–while expressing her frustration about President Donald Trump, she ranted, “yes, I’m angry. Yes, I am outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. But I know that this won’t change anything.”

While it’s pretty clear that the singer was speaking hyperbolically, the Secret Service has allegedly said that it will be opening up an investigation into her comments. Madonna has since clarified her statements, saying that they were taken out of context. She explained that she was empathizing with those who have reacted to Trump’s election with anger. We’ll have to see if she receives any additional backlash.
