It’s Monday and we have a new POTUS. It was a long weekend, and a lot of us would love a sunny vacation right now. But for Mark Zuckerberg, that might be a little more complicated than he expected. Check out our piece on why he is suing hundreds of Hawaiians. Have a great, rant-y day!

Millions of Women Worldwide Protested Trump’s Presidency

On Saturday, millions of women took to the streets in cities all over the country, as well as around the world, to protest sexism and bigotry. More than 600 marches took place in all 50 states. Organizers said almost 5 million protesters participated nationwide, in an unprecedented demonstration against the new POTUS. The largest march was in Washington D.C., which saw half a million protesters; many wearing pink hats with cat ears–so-called “pussy hats.” The peaceful protest in D.C. did not yield any arrests, unlike the protests during the inauguration when as many as 235 people were arrested in Washington alone.

Celebrities like America Ferrera, Michael Moore, and Madonna gave powerful speeches and performed. “We march today for the moral core of this nation, against which our new president is waging a war,” said Ferrera. Veteran activist Gloria Steinem said she had just talked to the sister march in Berlin: “They asked me to send a special message: We in Berlin know that walls don’t work.”
