As many celebrities have declined to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday, and more and more Democrats are pledging to boycott the show, even scalpers are finding it hard to sell tickets. According to one of them, Yossi Rosenberg, nobody wants to purchase the tickets he bought. He spent $700 on one pair, hoping to make some extra cash reselling them, but there are no takers. “It looks like I’m stuck with them, I might even have to go,” he said.
But according to the group organizing the inauguration, the event is supposed to be technically free, even though one ticket on a resale site was listed at $14,700. Since the highest bid Rosenberg got for his tickets was $200, it looks like the spectacle will not be sold out.
