Last night, Michelle Obama made one last appearance as First Lady on the “Tonight Show.” The show displayed a portrait of Michelle and invited guests to say some farewell words. But then Michelle herself stepped out from behind a curtain to greet her admirers.

“Because of you, I know that my race does not define who I am or what I can accomplish,” one woman said. Another woman reminisced about the time that Michelle mom-danced with Jimmy Fallon on the show, and totally outdid him. Then, the First Lady wrote some thank you notes with Jimmy Fallon, and the best one was for her husband; “Dear Barack, thank you for proving you’re not a lame duck, but my very own silver fox.” There were a lot of tears, laughter, and surprised faces.
