Donald Trump’s first press conference yesterday turned into a heated exchange with Jim Acosta, CNN’s senior White House correspondent. After describing how CNN reported on the recent allegations that Russia has some compromising information about him, Trump called CNN’s coverage a “disgrace” and “fake news.” When it was time for questions from the press, Acosta said, “Since you’re attacking us, can you give us a question?” Trump answered, “Not you, your organization is terrible,” before turning to other reporters.
Acosta didn’t give up but kept asking for a question, while Trump ignored him and talked over him. He also called Buzzfeed News a “failing pile of garbage.”
Acosta later revealed that Trump’s Press Secretary Sean Spicer then threatened to ban him from future news conferences if he ever interrupted the President-elect again.
