After Meryl Streep’s Golden Globes speech went viral it was widely praised. But…it didn’t necessarily unite everyone. After it aired, comedian and TV personality Billy Eichner tweeted a short and simple “MERYL. F***ING. STREEP. That’s all.” Around the same time, Meghan McCain, Fox News host and daughter of Senator John McCain, wrote on Twitter:
After that, Eichner questioned what she meant since Streep had only said that Trump shouldn’t make fun of disabled people, and should respect the arts. He also called McCain a “f***ing moron,” which was maybe taking it a little far. McCain fired back by saying that was “a great way for Hollywood to bridge the cultural divide. Enjoy your bubble.”
Eichner said he’d rather live in his bubble than with people who agree with Trump’s opinions.
