Sheryl Sandberg Donates $1 Million to Planned Parenthood

Chief Operating Officer of Facebook Sheryl Sandberg just donated $1 million to Planned Parenthood. Some people questioned her absence from the women’s marches around the country, as well as her silence on social media after Trump’s inauguration. But last week she spoke out against the reinstatement of the “global gag rule” and said she wished she could have attended the marches. Now, it looks like she’s putting her money where her mouth is.

Planned Parenthood’s President Cecile Richards thanked her in a statement and also thanked all the supporters who have aided the organization since the election, but mentioned that the reimbursement it gets from Medicaid is still vital for Planned Parenthood’s survival.
