As we all know, the Trump Administration’s ban on travelers from seven predominantly Muslim countries has upset everyone. And now it seems like the whole world is signing a letter to President Trump condemning it. The open letter is an initiative started by social activist site Avaaz and makes it clear that “the world rejects your fear, hate-mongering, and bigotry.”
It denounces his denigration of women, Muslims, Mexicans, and millions of others who “don’t look like you, talk like you, or pray to the same god as you.” As of Wednesday morning, the letter had over 4.8 million signatures, and a running list shows where in the world people are signing from. Hopefully, the letter will be inspiring to those who have lost hope, as the last lines read, “facing your fear we choose compassion. Hearing your despair we choose hope. Seeing your ignorance we choose understanding.”
Sign the letter from the world to Donald Trump. Nearly 4,000,000 already have. https://t.co/IleXwWPp8H @Avaaz pic.twitter.com/DSegKRYzIm
