Trump is TIME’s Person Of The Year

TIME has chosen its 90th “Person of the Year”—defined as the person who has had the most influence, for better or worse, on the events of the year. This year’s winner is Donald Trump. The magazine calls him: “the president of the divided states of America.” The piece also emphasizes that no matter if you love him or hate him, he has definitely disrupted the American political scene. And as many people pointed out on Twitter, being POTY doesn’t mean you’re the best person of the year. Even Hitler was once on the cover of TIME for the same reason early on in his career.

It’s safe to say that all eyes will be on Trump when he actually takes power in 2017.
