Sometimes you have a golden opportunity and have to act fast! That’s what a quick-witted man did yesterday in Manhattan when he came across an armored truck with the backdoors open and caught a glimpse of a bucket. Security footage shows how the man discreetly took the bucket out of the truck and simply walked away with it, as two men stood on the sidewalk, apparently oblivious.
The bucket contained gold flakes valued at $1.6 million and weighed 86 pounds. That’s why it took the thief an hour to travel a distance that normally takes about 10 minutes. Security cameras along the way revealed that he jumped into a white van and then took off. So yes, you shouldn’t steal, but you should also probably avoid leaving 86 pounds of gold unattended in the middle of New York City.
